Define Art Colony

Although the Tucson Artist Colony is not an "Artist Colony" in the truest sense it is a group of some of the best artists in the Southwest. We are committed to creating and providing an atmosphere to foster artistic growth among the artists who choose to work here and among artists who choose to participate in our classes.

Tucson Artist Colony provides premier studio spaces but it is the Art Classes offered through the Tucson Artist Colony that really set it apart. Instructors teach at the Colony by invitation. Class schedules can be seen on the site's Calander and you are encouraged to visit the websites of the instructors to find out more about his/her artwork. Contact the artists through his/her website to sign up for classes.

And certainly there is that special something about the buildings and courtyards of the Placita that make it feel like home for many Tucson Artists and artists visiting Tucson.
